Why do I have a negative balance?
Seeing a negative balance in your account can understandably be concerning. There are a few potential reasons this could occur:
Pending transactions
If you have recently made a purchase, withdrawal or transfer, there may be transactions still being processed. This can temporarily result in your account balance appearing negative until the transaction fully clears.
Declined payment
In some cases, a payment method like a bank transfer or card payment may get declined by your bank/provider, leaving an unfulfilled balance owed to Tap.
Fees
Certain transaction fees, wire fees, or account fees that get deducted can sometimes exceed your available balance and create a temporary negative amount.
System issue
Very rarely, a technical glitch or system issue could inaccurately display an incorrect negative balance.
If any of the of the above situations apply in your case, please don't hesitate to contact our support team right away. They can investigate the specific reason behind the negative balance on your account.
We want to assure you that your funds are safe, and any outstanding balances simply need to be reconciled. Our team will be happy to review your account details, explain any pending items, and resolve the issue promptly.
